The Chabot Gladiators opened their season in dominant fashion, defeating Cabrillo 80–13 and setting a new school record for points scored. Jalen Frenchwood returned the opening kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown, while Inoke Stotler rushed for a game-high 129 yards and two touchdowns. Chabot forced five turnovers and scored in all three phases of the game. The Gladiators will look to continue their strong start when they travel to face Hartnell-Salinas on September 5 at 1 p.m.
